The Impact of Regional Power Trade on Poor Communities in the Nile Basin Countries


This document reports the findings of a study which addressed the impact of regional power trade on poor communities in the Nile basin countries and especially in Ethiopia and Sudan. It also reports on the rationalization of the use of discount rates for economic analysis of water resources and related projects in the Nile Equatorial Lakes Subsidiary Action Programme (NELSAP). The report includes benefit maximization in agriculture production value addition and creative industries in the villages in the basin countries and the relevant policy recommendations.
