Nile Basin Initiative Member States Benefits Profiles

The profiles provide a brief description of the Nile Basin Initiative (NBI) and  the support (both financial and in-kind) the organization receives from its Member States namely, Burundi, DR Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.

The profiles further highlight the role of NBI in unlocking the Nile Basin's development potential as well as the specific benefits of the NBI cooperation to each Member State The benefits are derived from more than a decade of achievements of cooperative effort in water resource management and development in the Nile Basin. Broadly and at a basin-wide level the achievements include the establishment of a transitional regional institution, the advancement of more than USD 1 billion in investment financing and the creation of tools and capacities to jointly plan and manage the shared waters of the Nile Basin.
