Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) MSc Program and Short Courses Curriculum

This document contains the curriculum for the Masters program in Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and short courses. It was developed under the Applied Training Project (ATP) of the Nile Basin Initiative.

The curriculum are developed to form a link for collaboration among universities following the evolvement of the Nile Basin University Forum. The curriculum which is modular with a core program area in IWRM and specialization clusters, covers inter alia principles of IWRM, basic hydrology and hydrogeology, aquatic ecology, introduction to GIS and RS in water resources and statistical analysis. Others include the basic theory for social and economic aspects of IWRM, and the legal and political issues related to water resources, environment and their management. It also includes appropriate scientific methods and research tools in carrying out water project tasks in general and management tasks in particular.
